Travel & transportationFrom Gardermoen airport Gardemoen AirportThis is the main airport for Oslo and it is situated about 35 kms north of the city. You have the following choices of transfer: The airport express train leaves every 20 minutes (some periods every 10 minutes) and takes 19 minutes. It costs 150 NOK. (students get 50% reduced price) and arrives at the central railway station or Nationalteateret. The SAS airport bus leaves every 20 minutes and takes about 40 minutes to Oslo city. It costs 110 NOK ( 160 for a return ticket). Students get 50% reduced price. The bus stops at Jernbanetorget (the central railway station), Professor Aschehougs Plass and Holbergs Plass/Radisson SAS Scandinavia Taxi is an option if several people are travelling together. Ordinary taxis will cost 600–900 NOK, but if you ask for an "Airport taxi" at the Taxi information desk in the arrival hall, you will get a fixed price that is cheaper. Torp AirportThis airport is located about 120 kms south of Oslo . The only transfer choice is to take the Torp airport bus to Oslo ; after about 2-2 ½ hours you will arrive beside the main railway station. How to get to your hotelThe central railway station (Oslo S /Jernbanetorget) is the central transport hub in Oslo. Here you will find all tram lines and tube lines. It is ideal for transfer if you arrive by train or the Airport express train. Some hotels are however just as easily reached by taking the Airport bus that go directly to certain hotels. You can also buy 24 hour daycards, flexicard with 8 tickets, and a 7 day travelcard. Tickets are bought at the train and metro stations and in most Narvesen newsagent shops and 7-Eleven . You may also buy 1 hour tickets from the bus or tram driver, but if you buy them on beforehand they are must cheaper. Tickets are not sold on the tube. Note! All tickets must be stamped before they are valid! This is done in the small yellow or orange machines found on the buses and trams and on the metro platforms BEFORE you enter the tube. We recommend that you buy one or more 24-hour tickets, or a Flexicard with 8 travels, depending on how long you are staying and how much you are traveling. TaxisUsing a taxi in Oslo is fast and safe, but somewhat expensive. A trip from downtown Oslo to Blindern campus or back will cost about 120–150 NOK.
